Independent reading. tolbg is an informational publication about roads in Bulgaria for cars, motorcycles and freight vehicles. It does not sell vignettes, tolls, permits, insurance or roadside help, and it is not a public authority. Rules, fees and closures change. Confirm them with the responsible institutions before you travel.

tolbg is a static informational site. There is no account, no comment box, no checkout and no newsletter signup. The personal data we can actually touch is therefore limited.

Who is responsible

The publication tolbg, 106 Pop Gruyu Street, Levski G, 1836 Sofia, Bulgaria, is the controller for the correspondence and the preference cookie described here. Privacy requests go to [email protected]. Telephone: +359 895 715 885. We have not appointed a separate data-protection officer; the volume of data does not require one on the facts we know.

What we process

Emails you send

If you write to [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected], we receive the address you wrote from, the content of the message, and any attachment you chose to include. We use that to reply and, where you are reporting an error, to correct a page.

The preference cookie

After you make a choice in the cookie banner, the site stores a first-party cookie named tolbg_consent. It records whether you accepted or refused optional analytics and advertising storage. The cookie policy explains the values. Until you choose, that cookie is not set. No advertising or analytics tag is loaded by the pages as published.

Connection logs

The host that serves tolbg.sbs may keep ordinary server logs: IP address, time, the address of the page, and the browser’s user agent. Those logs are a security and operations record of the hosting provider. We do not run a separate analytics warehouse on top of them.

Why, and for how long

Correspondence is processed to answer you, which is a legitimate interest and, where you ask for a correction or a privacy right, a legal obligation or a step you requested. We keep an email thread for as long as the conversation is open and for a short period afterwards in case you write again about the same page, then delete it. A legal claim or a legal duty can require a longer keep.

The preference cookie lasts up to 180 days and exists so we do not ask you the same question on every page. That is a legitimate interest in remembering a choice you made, and it is also the practical way to honour a refusal. You can clear it in the browser and choose again from the footer.

We do not use personal data to make automated decisions that produce legal effects.

Who else sees it

An email provider stores the messages so they can be delivered. A hosting provider stores the site and its logs. They act on our instructions or under their own legal duties as a communications or hosting service. We do not sell personal data. We do not pass addresses to a vignette reseller, an insurer or an advertiser as a customer list.

If a future analytics or advertising tag is added, it will be gated by the consent choice. The cookie policy will be updated in the same change, and this section will name the provider. As of the date above, there is no such tag.

We would disclose information if Bulgarian or EU law required it, for example a lawful request from a competent authority.

Your rights

If the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, you can ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, or a copy of the email data in a portable form, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent. Withdrawing it does not undo a reply we have already sent.

You can also complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (Комисия за защита на личните данни), the supervisory authority in the country where the publication is based. We would like the chance to look at the problem first, via [email protected].

The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect children’s data.
